Garden City resident Bruce Barnet was named to the central Suffolk Hospital Foundation's board of directors. He is president and CEO of Barnet Holdings, a family-owned real estate development company.
Barnet received a degree in hotal and restaurant management from the University of New Hampshire, but he turned to real estate as his profession.
His first project with Barnet Holdings was the development of the Hampton Bays Tennis Club. Most recently, Barnet Holdings is developing Olde Vine Country Club and Estates, a 122-acre recreational resort and residential neighborhood in Riverhead.
Barnet Holdings also won a 2004 ENVY Award from the New York State Association of Realtors for community-focused work and commitment to environmental preservation.
“Bruce Barnet has a long history of involvement in philanthropic endeavors,” said Bobby Goodale, chair of the CSH Foundation board.
“His strong leadership qualities and ardent spirit that recognizes East End history while building for its furture strongly support Central Suffolk Hospital's plans.”
